I’m running for State Senate because I believe we deserve better. Better politics, better representation, and better service.

In the State Senate, Josh Newman has worked hard to:

IMPROVE SCHOOLS by fully funding them and lowering the costs of earning a college degree.
REDUCE HOMELESSNESS by focusing on mental health outreach and building supportive housing.
DEFEND CHOICE and ensure access to birth control and reproductive care for women.
CREATE JOBS, grow the economy, raise wages, and help local small businesses succeed.
PROVIDE MORE SUPPORT to residents who are struggling to keep pace with rising costs of living.

Reducing Gun Violence

Josh wrote the law banning the marketing of guns to children. He also passed the law that got 3-D “Ghost Guns” off the streets.

Navigating Rising Costs

Josh understands the rising costs are hurting local families. He’s working to raise wages, fix supply chain issues, and prevent tax increases.

Protecting Reproductive Rights

Josh is strongly supported by the Planned Parenthood Community Action Fund because he’s a champion for reproductive rights. His record includes working to:

PROTECT ABORTION by making it a constitutional right in the State of California.
EXPAND ACCESS to birth control and other reproductive healthcare services

Reducing Homelessness

Josh brought together cities and law enforcement agencies across O.C. to create a new program that’s been a model throughout the state for reducing homelessness. He is fighting to:

EXPAND MENTAL HEALTHCARE services to those who need it most, including our veterans.
BUILD MORE HOUSING, especially supportive and affordable housing, and protect renters.

Fighting Climate Change

Josh understands the existential threat caused by climate change, which is why he’s
helping lead the fight to reduce emissions. Josh has successfully worked to:

BUILD GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE for transportation by authoring a landmark new law.
ENSURE CLEANER AIR for every community, build more parks, and protect open space.
