About Josh Newman

  • The groups representing Orange County police officers endorsed Josh Newman for Senate because they know he is the only candidate who is committed to investing in public safety to reduce gang violence and getting illegal guns off the street. Newman helped pass laws to crack down on sex traffickers[1] as well as thieves who target retail stores[2].
  • Newman is a strong advocate for common-sense gun safety laws, including banning the sales of guns to those convicted of child abuse and elder abuse, and making it harder for domestic abusers to buy guns.
  • Newman co-authored the state constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights[3], and he has a 100 percent pro-choice rating[4]. That is why Newman is endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

About Steven Choi

Steven Choi is an extremist career politician who has aligned himself with Donald Trump and called Trump’s vision “awesome[5].”

  • Choi is a longtime Donald Trump supporter, and shares Trump’s views on abortion. Choi voted against a state constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights[6], and has been endorsed by groups that oppose abortion even in cases of rape and incest[7]. Choi even voted against protecting women from prosecution for having miscarriages[8].
  • Choi is reportedly a denier of manmade climate change[9], and took over $45,000 from the oil industry. Choi voted in favor of more offshore oil drilling[10], and even voted to support Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord[11].
  • In the Assembly Choi voted against 45 common-sense gun safety laws, including restricting access to guns for domestic abusers[12]. Choi received a 92 percent positive rating from the National Rifle Association[13].
